Dr. Rebecca is a General Practitioner with a particular interest in dermatology and facial aesthetics.
After qualifying with a medical degree from the University of Oxford in 2008, Dr Rebecca trained in Psychiatry and later went on to complete her General Practitioner Specialist Training in 2016. She is now working as a GP in Bedford.
Dr Rebecca’s main area of interest is dermatology, the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails and hair, in both health and disease. She is presently undertaking a Clinical Diploma in Dermatology from Queen Mary’s at the University of London. Applying her knowledge not just to the treatment of disease processes, but also to improvements of a cosmetic nature has led Rebecca into Facial Aesthetics. She utilises her in-depth knowledge of dermatology and passion for the subject, to improve facial appearance by counteracting the effects of ageing, reshaping and enhancing the features of both young and more mature patients, by improving lips, chins and cheeks.
To build on this firm foundation of training, Dr Rebecca has been taught at the Institute of Advanced Facial Aesthetics in Berkshire and has studied under the expert tutelage of Dr Ruth Brady, an experienced, award-winning Dental Surgeon and Facial Aesthetician based in Yorkshire.
The skin is often the mirror to general health and well-being. Being able to read the signs is invaluable in being able to advise a patient on both their physical as well as psychological health. Utilising her knowledge of both dermatology and facial aesthetics means that Dr. Rebecca is in a position where she can improve her patients’ self-esteem by giving them a more youthful appearance and improved balance to the face both from the front and in profile.
Dr. Rebecca is a believer in natural results consistent with normal anatomy. Rather than looking at individual features in isolation, she has been taught to consider a full-face approach to diagnosis and treatment planning. She puts this into practice by doing her work in stages and so achieves a gradual transformation for her patients. Using this approach it is not then obvious that they have been receiving treatment.
Rebecca’s empathetic demeanour puts her nervous patients at ease and the improvement in their appearance boosts their confidence. Her fields of expertise include amongst other things: anti-wrinkle treatments on forehead lines and crow’s feet, lip and peri-oral augmentation and cheek augmentation.
About my work
Every new patient will receive an in-depth New Patient Consultation during which time the client can discuss their desires, concerns and exactly what they would like to achieve.
A client may wish for a more youthful appearance, or it may be to correct a facial imbalance or improve a particular feature such as the nose or lips.
I use a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers alongside skin care routine discussions to formulate an individualised treatment plan for the patient.
Patients go on a journey with me, to a more rejuvenated and redefined self.
