Trauma Focussed CBT

❇️ Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or TF-CBT is a type of psychotherapy that can be used for children, adolescents and their families following trauma, for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

❇️ TF-CBT can help clients overcome the trauma, and identify and develop coping mechanisms for their emotions, thoughts and behaviours.

❇️ NICE (the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, which tells NHS doctors which treatments to use for diseases and conditions) recommends TF-CBT for PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) in children, young people and adults [CG123; NG116].
