About
I’m Accredited ADHD Coach and Senior Mental Health Social Worker.
My passion for supporting and empowering people with ADHD is deeply personal, shaped by my own journey and my experiences both as a professional and as a parent. These challenges have shaped me into the empathetic, resilient, and insightful coach I am today. I truly understand what it feels like to struggle with focus, self-confidence, and life transitions, and I use these insights to help others find their own path to strength, self-discovery, and success.
With my professional experience and specific ADHD training, I coach:
⚡ adult ADHD (especially self-employed, management & creative workers)
⚡ late-diagnosed ADHD,
⚡executive functions.
⚡family coaching.
Professionally, I have spent over a decade supporting children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including complex conditions, co-occurring disorders, PTSD, and substance misuse. In my previous experience as a Deputy Manager for the Mental Health Crisis Pathway, I led initiatives to improve client care, such as implementing ADHD and ASD screening processes that enabled clients to access support more quickly. In 2021, I was honoured to receive an NHS Staff Award for my contributions to mental health services.
I have completed a Neurodivergent Inclusive Coaching Programme, which has further enhanced my ability to support clients with a variety of neurodivergent profiles. In addition to ADHD, I also work with clients with autism, OCD, Tourette’s, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. My approach is always holistic and tailored, blending clinical knowledge with real life experience and resilience. I use practical tools such as LEGO therapy to help clients’ express emotions and thoughts in new ways, ensuring every session is meaningful and effective.
We explore your ADHD traits and strengths, identify challenges, uncover your unique needs, and create an effortless approach that aligns with your own version of life.
For me, coaching is about so much more than managing ADHD. It is about thriving with it, growing stronger, and achieving success on your own terms. My story is proof that with the right support, you can turn adversity into strength. If you are ready to move beyond survival mode and unlock your true potential, I would love to support you on your journey. Let us work together to help you or your child not just manage ADHD, but truly thrive.
ADHD coaching is at the heart of Carlene’s work, providing practical, individualised support that targets the core challenges of ADHD. Her coaching helps clients gain a deep understanding of how ADHD affects their daily life, and together they build the structures, support systems, skills, and strategies needed to move forward and thrive.
Carlene works collaboratively with each client to help them stay focused on their goals, overcome obstacles, and address the unique ways ADHD shows up in their lives. She recognises that ADHD impacts everyone differently, so every coaching relationship is tailored to the individual’s specific needs and strengths. Together, Carlene and her clients address academic, vocational, emotional, and relationship challenges, finding practical solutions that work for each person.
A key part of Carlene’s coaching is supporting clients to understand their own brain wiring and to identify and harness their strengths. She works with clients to develop executive function skills such as planning, organisation, time management, and self-regulation, which are often areas of difficulty for people with ADHD. Carlene provides guidance and practical tools to help clients organise their day, manage their time, and maintain focus, enabling them to function more effectively and confidently.
Carlene’s coaching is holistic, considering all aspects of wellbeing including lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, exercise, technology use, and the environment. She works with clients to create healthy, sustainable habits that support overall quality of life.
Drawing on over a decade of experience as a Senior Mental Health Social Worker, Carlene brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and practical, real-world strategies to her coaching. She has supported children, young people, and adults with a wide range of complex mental health needs, co-occurring conditions, and life challenges. This professional background allows her to offer a comprehensive and informed perspective.
Carlene’s approach is also deeply informed by her own lived experience. She has navigated her own ADHD and dyslexia diagnoses as an adult and is currently on the ASD pathway for assessment. In addition, she has overcome personal challenges such as postnatal depression, alcohol addiction, homelessness, domestic abuse, and body dysmorphia. These experiences have shaped her into a compassionate, resilient, and insightful coach who connects with clients on a genuine level.
Carlene adapts her coaching to meet the needs of each person. For those who prefer creative approaches or struggle to communicate verbally, she offers LEGO as a coaching tool. This hands-on method allows clients to express emotions and thoughts in new ways, making sessions more accessible and meaningful.
Through her coaching, clients experience increased independence and self-confidence as they learn the skills necessary to be more effective, productive, and fulfilled. Carlene’s coaching is not about fixing people, but about empowering them to understand themselves, play to their strengths, and achieve success on their own terms.
If you are ready to move beyond survival mode and unlock your true potential, Carlene is here to support you every step of the way.
