About
Abraham, Qualified and Insured Sports and Deep Tissue Massage Therapist, BSc, MSc (Sport and Exercise Science and Sport and Exercise Nutrition, respectively) and Rugby Union Player.
My Aims and Objectives:
Hello everyone! I am Abraham Jones. I am a clinical physical therapist who is on a mission to improve the health and quality of life for all whom I can reach. My abilities are not limited to athletes, but also to the public, working professionals and casual gym-goers who feel they are limited by movement problems.
I am here not only to help you remove those barriers, but also to have a hand in helping you push to the next level!
I am a sports therapist who will always listen to you, try to understand your problems and will be with you every step of the way with patience, compassion and kindness. I want you to feel welcome, comfortable and excited in my clinical practice, and I will always look forward to seeing you.
My goal is to restore, alleviate and elevate – to help you to enjoy the freedom of movement to its fullest.
My Qualifications:
Level 3 and 4 Sports Massage Therapist – Provision of physical assessments and massage therapy for various cases, as well as post-care and corrective exercises for any irregular movement patterns.
Able to help stretch your joints, alleviate muscle knots and localised tightness, relax muscles and restore comfort, and improve mobility and function in movement.
Advanced Deep Tissue Massage Therapist – A form of massage designed to iron out stiffness that sits beneath the surface.
Kinesiology Taping Qualified – Able to use taping techniques to improve stability in the joints.
Sport and Exercise Science BSc – Dissertation on Human Movement and Performance
Sport and Exercise Nutrition MSc – Master’s Project on Sleep Nutrition
(Both my bachelor’s degree and master’s degree came from Birmingham City University, 2020-2024).
Level 2 Fitness Instructor – Advanced knowledge of exercises and training to supplement rehabilitation and relate to gym-goers.
What does this mean, and what can I do for you?
This means that from my extensive and varied training as a massage therapist, I have an array of different massage techniques that I can use to give you the best treatment possible. I am well-equipped to deal with any aches, pains and soreness across the body to remove the restrictions that they are causing. To improve movement quality and reliably relieve discomfort. I pride myself on this deeply, and I am confident that you will leave your clinical visit both educated and more mobile.
My treatment also includes post-care advice and rehabilitation relevant to your situation. As a well-studied clinician who is always striving to improve my service and your health, I also offer a programme of corrective exercises and tips to help uproot your physical debilitations at the root. Every bit of advice and exercise prescription will come with a comprehensive rationale behind it, backed by clinical literature and research.
Through my years of education and sport, I have a deep understanding of human performance through countless hours of study of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics (human movement), nutrition, training programming, recovery and injury rehabilitation and prevention. My services extend past effective physical treatment; I am well-equipped to improve your movement in a variety of ways. I have an advanced understanding of sports science and the limits of human performance, so I can help even ambitious athletes to reach the next level through education on the principles of training and by reviewing training programmes.
My master’s degree in sport and exercise nutrition means I can offer the rare service of providing nutritional advice and meal plans, especially for:
– Nutrition to help with sleep
– Nutrition to help with performance
– Nutrition to help with overall health
– Nutrition to help with injuries
If you require such a service, do let me know!
Lastly, I believe I owe it to citizens of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and wherever else, to perform my duty spectacularly by providing a service that all will find useful. It is for that reason that I am constantly engaging in continued practical professional development to expand my aid, so that your trust will not just be well-earned, but well-kept as well.
What does an average consultation look like?
– Subjective Analysis: We start with an enjoyable, yet comprehensive chat about your visit today, what you do and any other background details that may influence why you have come to my clinic today. This will give a clearer understanding of what can be done to treat you.
– Postural Analysis: Whilst you stand in a neutral position, I run an analysis on your posture, the way how your body behaves when it is still. From this, we may be able to detect muscular imbalances or any areas where excessive stress may be generated.
– Functional Movement Screening: Relevant to your circumstances, we may perform a short series of movements to further create a measurement of progress. This allows us to deepen the understanding of the situation and provide strong and clinically accurate goal setting for performance. Each movement will be scored based on how well the movement was executed.
– Range of Motion Testing: Testing the flexibility and strength of the relevant joints and muscles.
– Special Testing: A specific movement test that tests the structural integrity of the body, screening for any specific injuries. Only occurs if a specific injury is suspected.
– Palpation: Simply performing a touch test for the affected areas to further gain an accurate profile of the musculoskeletal system, and to pinpoint and better understand the pain, tenderness and soreness of any joints.
– Massage: If all is safe and cleared, a well-structured, personalised massage treatment will be administered.
– Rehabilitation and Post-Care Advice: Based on all the findings, recommendations in your best interests for quality of movement and performance will follow to conclude the treatment.
As mentioned, each treatment is personalised for YOU and tailored to your best interests, so please reach out and let me know which services you’re looking for.
