About Ian

I am the founder of Personal Reset, a private one-to-one wellbeing and personal development service supporting people through periods of pressure, burnout, life transition, relationship difficulties, confidence challenges, emotional overwhelm, and times when something no longer feels aligned or sustainable.

Clients often describe me as approachable, easy to talk to, and able to help them gain clarity and perspective without judgement or pressure. I also understand pressure personally — rebuilding after setbacks, navigating demanding seasons of life, and recognising when something no longer fits.

My work combines evidence-informed psychology, wellbeing, human performance, practical life experience, and years of supporting people through demanding periods of life and work.

I take a holistic and highly personalised approach to wellbeing and personal development. Work, relationships, health, lifestyle, confidence, stress, recovery, purpose, and performance are often more connected than they first appear. Support is always tailored to the individual and may draw upon psychology, behaviour change, wellbeing planning, health and lifestyle factors, fitness and recovery, psychometric and wellbeing assessments, therapeutic massage, or other practical approaches that support wellbeing and sustainable change.

I hold an MSc in Occupational Psychology (Distinction) and have worked across psychological wellbeing, neurodivergent support, personal training, behaviour change, resilience, and performance-focused environments, including work psychology roles within government settings. This breadth of experience helps me recognise the close relationship between mental wellbeing, physical health, lifestyle, recovery, confidence, and everyday life.

Before this, I served as a Royal Navy Physical Training Instructor, where I learned how resilience, confidence, and performance grow best when people feel supported, understood, and steady under pressure.

How I Work

My work is collaborative, reflective, and tailored to the individual.
Sessions provide a confidential space to step back from pressure, gain perspective, explore what may be contributing to current challenges, and identify meaningful ways forward.

Rather than focusing on a single issue in isolation, I take a broader view of the individual and their circumstances. Work, relationships, wellbeing, confidence, health, lifestyle, purpose, and direction are often more connected than they first appear.

Support may draw upon psychology-informed practice, behaviour change, wellbeing planning, resilience, health and lifestyle guidance, psychometric and wellbeing assessments, therapeutic massage, and other practical approaches where appropriate.

While some people find the initial Personal Reset session provides the clarity they need, others choose to continue with ongoing support. Meaningful change rarely comes from a single conversation. It often develops over time as new perspectives emerge, habits become established, and different ways of responding to challenges are explored. Follow-up sessions provide space for reflection, support, accountability, and practical action as this process unfolds.

Support is available in person at Bedford Consulting Rooms or online.
